Mission

Our mission is to promote the use of our nation’s resources, particularly renewable cellulosic materials, to produce clean fuels and green chemicals. We will accomplish this through the support of research, the demonstration of proven technologies, and the development of infrastructure and capital to foster new industries to produce desired fuels and chemicals.  Innovation is the most important factor in keeping America successful and prosperous. GIFC will serve the American people by fostering innovative scientists and engineers in biotechnology – helping them test their ideas with seed funding, and providing a safety net should their successful long-term efforts become jeopardized through loss of funding.

Immediate Goal

To inaugurate cellulosic (cellulose) ethanol production in the US. (See Urgent Tasks)
